Questions In.Funk Out.
What happens, how to prepare, when you can return, and what professional odor treatment can realistically do.
Frequently Asked Questions
Every odor and every space is different. These answers explain the standard WTFunk process. Your service instructions may be more specific after we assess the source and conditions.
What types of spaces does WTFunk treat?
WTFunk provides professional odor treatment for qualifying cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, RVs, vacant rental properties, and unoccupied commercial interiors. Each project must be assessed to confirm that the space, odor source, materials, and occupancy conditions are appropriate for service.
What kinds of odors can you address?
Common service requests include persistent smoke, pet, cooking, food-spill, stale, musty, and turnover odors. Treatment begins only after active odor sources and contaminated materials have been cleaned, removed, dried, repaired, or otherwise addressed as required.
Do you guarantee complete odor elimination?
No responsible odor professional can guarantee the same result for every source and material. Results depend on the odor source, severity, duration, temperature, moisture, affected materials, previous remediation, and whether the underlying cause has been fully corrected. Some materials may require removal or replacement.
Does WTFunk simply cover odors with fragrance?
No. WTFunk is not a scent-masking service. The goal is to address persistent odor compounds after the physical source and contaminated materials have been properly handled.
Does the space need to be unoccupied?
Yes. People, pets, and other living things must remain outside the designated treatment area during service. Access remains restricted until treatment, ventilation, verification, and release are complete.
How do I prepare for treatment?
Preparation depends on the service type and space. WTFunk will provide specific instructions. Typical preparation may include:
- Correcting and removing the active odor source
- Completing required cleaning, drying, or repairs
- Removing people, pets, plants, food, medications, and sensitive items
- Providing safe access and securing the treatment area
- Following all service-specific preparation instructions

How long does treatment take?
Timing depends on the size and type of space, odor source, severity, materials, temperature, moisture, preparation, treatment plan, and ventilation conditions. WTFunk will provide a service window after assessing the project. Do not plan to re-enter based only on an estimated time.
When can I re-enter or use the space again?
Re-entry is allowed only after WTFunk completes treatment, ventilation, verification, and release. Customers must follow the instructions given for their specific service and must not enter early, even if the odor seems improved.
Will I notice an odor after treatment?
A temporary post-treatment scent may remain during or after ventilation. That scent is not permission to enter early and should not be used by itself to decide whether a space is ready. Follow WTFunk's release direction.
Could the odor return?
Yes, if the source remains, moisture returns, contaminated materials were not removed, new contamination occurs, or odor compounds continue migrating from affected materials. A returning odor may indicate that additional source correction, cleaning, removal, repair, or treatment is needed.
Does WTFunk provide mold or biohazard remediation?
No. WTFunk does not provide mold remediation, asbestos services, sewage cleanup, hazardous-material cleanup, biohazard remediation, pest control, or medical disinfection. Those conditions require appropriately qualified professionals before odor treatment is considered.
What does WTFunk Certified mean?
WTFunk Certified refers to completion of WTFunk's internal service process, including assessment, preparation requirements, controlled treatment, ventilation, verification, and release. It is a WTFunk service designation, not a claim of third-party certification or governmental approval.
How do I request service?
Use the service request form and describe the space, odor, suspected source, how long it has been present, and what cleaning or repairs have already been completed. WTFunk will review the information and determine the next appropriate step.
